Stormsvlei Farm Stall and Restaurant opened at the beginning of February 2010. It was very important that Stormsvlei attracts not only tourists to the area but also people who live and work around it. Jeanne, from SA herself, lived and worked in London for several years before returning home to establish herself as a restaurateur not far from her hometown of Swellendam. With her came her fiance, Steve Collinson, who has been a chef for 20 years. Steve (a Londoner) has worked at various well known restaurants and clubs in London as a chef and pastry chef.

At Stormsvlei we like people to enjoy themselves and relax. As you walk through the old hotel building and bar you are welcomed through the dining room by the beautiful garden. You can sit and relax, enjoy a cup of freshly ground coffee and cake in the morning or maybe snack on a Burger or salad for lunch from our A la Carte menu. In the afternoon take tea and scones while the sun dances through the trees and the birds sing. Sunday is a lively day at Stormsvlei when our popular Sunday lunch is served. When your belly is full sink in to one of our leather chairs or leather sofas in the lounge or maybe take a walk around the garden.

One of the first ideas that we used in our menu and farm stall is that it is very important to us to support the local community as much as possible and base many aspects of Stormsvlei on locally sourced produce. Meat, coffee, fruit, vegetables, dairy products and poultry are all supplied locally and our farm stall sells many products that are utilised in creating our menu. For instance if you like the jam you had with your freshly baked scone, then you have an option to buy it in the farm stall and so take away a memento of your visit to Stormsvlei.
